Spring Picnic 2009

We had to change the venue of our Spring Picnic as few things did not work out. The new location is "CELEBRATION PARK" at Allen. Everything is confirmed and the pavilion is reserved, all we need is your presence.

The Celebration Park is pretty new compared to other parks. It has covered pavilion, picnic tables, playground, sprayground(not open at this time), baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, basketball courts, hike and bike trail. The "kidMania" playground is geared for kids ages two to 12 years old. It is very huge and different and something you don't usually see anywhere around.

As Sachin had mentioned we are having egg hunting, so please bring Easter Baskets. Also if anybody is interested to bring the Kites, Balls, cricket gear and anything you can think of, they are welcome to do so.

Here is the link to a picture of the park.

Basaveshwara Vachana Sheela Mantapa

January 14, 2009

Dear Sir / Madam:

I would like to extend my deepest wishes for the festival of Shankaranthi today. I wish that all of you must be blessed with the love, happiness and joy of celebrating this occasion of Shiva and his love for Lord Basavanna who was responsible for the establishment of the first welfare state in India during the 12th century.

As the President of the Basaveshwara Vachana Sheela Mantap Committee I would like to share with you in brief, our desire to commemorate the Vachanas of the holy saint Shri Basavanna who was born in our village of Ingleshwar in 1134 AD. We express our desire that you kindly review this proposition and provide us financial assistance towards the construction of the Basaveshwara Vachana Sheela Mantap at Ingleshwar.

We have already started work on this project with the limited financial resources that were made available to us by our beloved devotees. We plan to extend this initiative to bring a greater focus on the Vachanas composed by Basavanna to promote equality and harmony in the society during the 12th Century.

Kindly take some time to review this proposal and kindly make your best efforts to help us achieve this missionary project to promote the teachings of this Son of Ingleshwar who was responsible for founding a new religion based on equality and compassion for all human beings.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Shri. MNP Channabasava Swamy

Deepavali celebration Nov. 8th, 2008

Thanks for making this Deepavali a memorable one. Glad we could celebrate with y'all.
Hope everybody had as much fun as we did. Missed you, Avinash, Sowmya and Diya.

Thanks to Sushma and Vijay Hiremath for hosting and comfortable arrangements. The house was decorated very nicely for the occasion, and the giant sparklers was a big hit. Kudos to Sushma and Vijay for a great job !!!!!
Glad weather was good, and timing was great with everyone making it on time. Couldn't have been more impressed with the way things went yesterday evening. With 21 families attending (46 adults and 22 kids), it was a happy occasion.

Food was catered from Chettinaad Palace in Plano, they did a wonderful job with every item on the menu.

Happy Birthday to Arya and Varuni!

Some families couldn't make it this time, we missed you. Definitely wish to see you at upcoming VSNA events.
