2009 Events and Elections Update
Dear Members,
We would like to update VSNA-TX members with 2009 events details based upon nominations we have received so for.

Also 2009 VSNA Annual Convention is on July 4th weekend in Chicago, IL .
Please let us know if you are interested in hosting Deepavali or coordinate any open events.
Also we have received one nomination for open positions in VSNA-TX chapter 2009-10 committee, see below.

We encourage you to nominate for remaining open positions. If we don't receive any nominations by Mahashivaratri then we will have to pick candidates for open position on Mahashivaratri event.

2009 Election and Events
Dear Members,
It is time for VSNA-TX chapter committee election, as term of current committee will be ending by Feb 2009 i.e. on Mahashivaratri. Hence following are the open positions that needs to be filled up for 2009-10 committee.
1. President
2. Vice President
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
We are accepting self nominations. So it is time for you to take this opportunity to nominate yourself to any of the above open positions. If you are interested, please respond to this email with the position you are interested in, by January 15th 2009.
Following are VSNA-TX chapter proposed 2009 events:
1, Mahashivaratri - Actual festival date falls on Monday, Feb. 23rd, proposed celebration date, Saturday Feb. 28th. TBD - venue, coordinator.
2. Ugadi/Outdoor Event I - Actual festival date falls on Friday, Mar. 27th, proposed event date, Saturday Mar. 28th (April 4th backup). It as an outdoor event - weather permitting. TBD – venue, coordinator.
3. Basava Jayanthi - Actual date falls on Tuesday, Apr. 28th, planned to celebrate at the DFW temple on Saturday, May 2nd; 10 am -12 pm, TBD - coordinator.
4. Ganesha Chaturthi - Actual festival date falls on Sunday, Aug. 23rd, proposed celebration date, Saturday Aug. 29th. TBD - Venue, coordinator.
5. Deepavali - Actual festival date falls on Sunday, Oct. 18, 19th, proposed celebration date Saturday Oct. 24th. TBD - Venue, coordinator.
6. Out door event II - Usually we try to do this event in fall - weather permitting. TBD - date, venue, coordinator.
Also 2009 VSNA Annual Convention is on July 4th weekend in Chicago , IL .
Please mark your calendar and plan on attending these events with family.
We need volunteers to host the festivals and coordinate the events. If you are interested in hosting or interested in coordinating any of the events, please respond to this email with the event you want to host or coordinate. You can choose to do either or both.
